They are anti-abrasive expansion chambers, particularly suitable for mounting upon arrival of pneumatic transport on storage silos or hoppers.

PN6 UNI 2276 or PN16 UNI 2278 flanges can be supplied upon request.

These chambers favour separation between transported material and air before reaching the silo or hopper, thus reducing any load loss during pneumatic transport.

On moving from the pipeline of the plant to the expansion chamber, the product reduces transport speed thanks to a change in the cross-section. In doing so, the product at low speed sprinkles into the silo (or hopper) whereas the product at higher speed first impacts the opposite wall upon arrival of the pneumatic transport and then falls into the storage room.

The wall intended “for arrival” is protected against abrasion by a very thick stainless steel shield.
